Food, Fun, Games, Giveaways! Hope you can come play at this fabulous youth-centric event for all ages to celebrate all families, and our LGBTQIA+ Allies community in Nevada County. The Pride Family Picnic is more than just a celebration of love and diversity; it's a testament to the strength of our bonds and the beauty of our unity. We're committed to creating an inclusive space where everyone feels welcomed, accepted, and celebrated for who they are.
Our 3rd Annual Pride Family Picnic is one of our biggest events of the year and can only be held with contributions from our generous community to help pay for food, beverages, decorations, games and swag and other expenses that we incur. Thanks for your generous donations that can be made here.
Here are the specific ways that we would love your help.
Volunteers: We have a variety of volunteer needs for before, during and after the event. We are specifically looking for help in the following areas. Please share with those you think would be interested:
Event set-up, event cleanup, flier distribution around town, welcome table person, and “safe space holders” folks in this role will be primarily responsible for de-escalation needs and keeping an eye on event perimeter. We are also in need of someone to serve as a lead for Safe Space Holders, the lead would need to attend at least 1 planning meeting and would coordinate volunteers.

Donations/lending items: We're also seeking donations or lending of items to help make the picnic a success. Whether it's decorations, snacks or any other supplies, your contributions will go a long way in ensuring everyone has a fantastic time. If you're able to donate or lend items, please refer to Pride Family Picnic: 3rd Annual Pride Family Picnic (signupgenius.com) to indicate what items you can provide. The team is also looking for a couple of easy-ups/canopies and tables to borrow if you have any to spare. Monetary donations to help fund the event’s costs can be made here.
Vendor Opportunities: Does your department/business/organization/school offer services that align with the spirit of the Pride Family Picnic? We invite you to showcase your products, department or services as a vendor at the event. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with our diverse community while supporting a great cause. If you're interested, please fill out the vendor registration form (jotform.com).
Join Our Planning Committee: Would you like to join the planning committee? We’ll meet twice more over the month before the event to plan out the final details of the big day… your participation in the planning process would be welcomed! E-mail Danielle Vanaman at dvanaman@ssyaf.org to be included in these virtual meetings.
Amazon Wishlist: Please feel free to take a look at our Amazon wish list to directly purchase needed supplies and have them transported directly to the picnic for you! Pride Family Picnic Amazon Wishlist
Spread the Word: Please print some flyers and share them with other families or on any local bulletin boards at favorite spots around town. Please also share the digital version on your social media to help us spread the word.
Your support, whether through volunteering, donations, or vendor participation, plays a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all attendees. Together, we can make a difference and spread love and acceptance within our community.
Thank you in advance for considering our request. Your generosity and support mean the world to us and contribute immensely to the success of our event. If you know anyone who might be help to help with any of the above, please share this list with them!
If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Let's come together and make this year's Pride Family Picnic the best one yet!
