Queer Reads is a monthly adult book club (18+) celebrating the diverse voices of queer authors, characters, stories and joy. Join us each month as we celebrate queer storytelling and foster the discovery of new ideas and unfamiliar lived-experiences. Queer Reads meets on the Third Wednesday of every month. Hosted by Nevada County Library Staff.
For April, we will be reading How far the light reaches: A Life in Ten Sea Creatures by Sabrina Imbler. A queer, mixed race writer working in a largely white, male field, science and conservation journalist Sabrina Imbler has always been drawn to the mystery of life in the sea, and particularly to creatures living in hostile or remote environments.
Copies of the next month's book are available on a first-come first-served basis at all Queer Reads meetings and at the Nevada County Library, just ask at the desk.
