World AIDS Day at Sacramento State

World AIDS Day at Sacramento State

Every year, on December 1st, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite to show support for people living with and affected by HIV and to remember those who lost their lives to AIDS. This day is also an opportunity to highlight the work of eliminating HIV/AIDS and marks the pivotal impact communities have had in shaping the HIV response, as well as global health at large. The theme of World AIDS Day 2023 is 'Let Communities Lead.'

Sacramento State University Union will be hosting their 35th annual event on December 1st from 6:00pm- 8:30pm at the University Union Ballroom at Sacramento State, 6000 J Street. The event will feature panels from the AIDS memorial quilt, the Sacramento Gay Men’s Chorus, candlelight vigil and resource tables.
